I wrote this CGI Perl program to help automate the task of adding new links to my links page on my own web site. There are a number of ways to get requests to trade links, and there are many webmasters looking to trade links with you. Link Partners is one of them. Webmasters will request a reciprocal link where a link to your page is placed on their web site, and you place a reciprocal link if you accept the trade.

Rather than modify my web site manually using GoLive, which is my web site software (others available are Macromedia DreamWeaver and Microsoft Front Page), I wrote the Links Trader tool to speed up adding new links. The page created is not a dynamic page because what the Perl program generates is a HTML. I do not write the HTML directly; that is, I display the source of the generated page, which is a .CGI page, and then save the source as my HTML page. You can view a demo or download the Links Trader tool and use it yourself.
